Appearance: Medium to medium(+) golden yellow
Aroma: Spiced apple, vanilla, sweet spices, white pepper, wet wool, wet forest, hint of lemon zest, hint of malty/ barley, hint of savoury and salt ham at the back. It is quite distintive from the smell that the whisky is probably matuured in bourbon from highland region
Palate: Lemon zest, apple peel, sweet spices, peppery, spicy, lemon sponge cake, a bit bitterness with grapefruit. Medium to medium(+) body, quite oily in mouth
Aftertaste: Medium(+) length with spices, grapefruit, whitecurrant, hint of saltiness and lemon zest
This is not the best Glen Garioch I like the most but still with the body, especially the greasiness shows its age. The spiciness with a kick of savoury is something I love the most. However the alcohol feeling especially in the throat is still a bit strong, And still it is pretty direct whisky without much variations and surprises. -82points
p.s. The tasting is from a small sample
